Storage in customs depot
Goods from outside the European Union are essentially considered non-Community goods. That means they are under customs supervision. There are advantages to storing such goods in a customs depot: a sealed repository. The advantage is that no import duties have to be paid. You can avoid these altogether when the goods are used for re-export outside the European Union.
The import duties will only be levied if the goods are to leave the customs depot. This delay can affect your liquidity and interest charges. De Boer Transport is fully qualified to prepare your goods for international transport (customs clearing and designating as free trade) or draw up a new T1 document needed for shipping. The latter is a document that is formatted for external Community transport; transportation of goods from one place to another within the customs territory of the EU, where the goods are placed under customs supervision.
