De Boer Transport was the first in the Netherlands to recognise the concept of Longer Heavier Vehicles (LHVs, also called super truck or Eco Combi) and to participate in their use. Transport in LHVs reduces CO2 emissions and the costs of logistics. De Boer Transport has been using LHVs on Dutch roads since December 2000. De Boer was one of the three companies that participated in a small-scale test of the Ministry of Transport involving four trucks. LHVs have a maximum length of 25.5 metres and a weight of up to sixty tons.
